OPPO Reno8 5G flexes Sony IMX camera sensors

The OPPO Reno8 5G’s cameras boast dual Sony flagship sensors. A 32MP front camera with a Sony IMX709 sensor plus a 50MP main camera which uses the Sony IMX766 sensor.

The main camera sp
orts a
1/1.56-inch large sensor. And as we know about photography, this larger sensor will allow more light to pass through, which will result in an overall brighter image.

Coupled with that is OPPO’s New Generation RGBW color array. OPPO claims that this allows even more light to be captured by the sensor when compared to the regular RGB lenses.

Both cameras have a hardware-based DOL-HDR for improved nighttime capabilities with the ideal mix of light and shade.

Algorithms plus Sony IMX sensors, equals flagship-grade photos and videos

Along with the dual Sony camera sensors, the OPPO Reno8 5G utilizes an AI-enhanced software focused on improving images at low light.

As for its Ultra Night Portrait, the Reno8 5G uses what
OPPO calls a Turbo RAW algorithm which provides quicker nighttime shooting, higher resolution, and noise reduction.

This also enhances image brightness, colors, details, and low image noise in dimly lit conditions.

More imaging features for creative styles of content

On top of all the camera features, the Reno8 5G features creative modes such as a Hyperlapse feature which allows users to take moving timelapses of sceneries and landscapes.

OPPO has also included a 960fps AI Slow-Motion video capture for capturing super slow motion videos. This mode even allows users complete control of how an when the shot begins.

There's also a number of Portrait Mode for bokeh effects, some of which are comparable to professional DSLR cameras.

Ultimately, this also features AI Portrait Retouching for real-time portrait retouching which even works in addition to its Portrait mode bokeh effects.
