E-payment platform GCash has recently co-hosted the Cybersphere Philippines Forum - a two-day event that showcase the latest developments and best practices in ICT, cybersecurity, and cloud.
The forum, which was held at the Shangri-la at the Fort Hotel on September 10-11, 2023, was organized by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and endorsed by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
Featuring speakers and panelists from various sectors, including GCash executives who shared their insights and experiences on how to secure e-payments and protect users from cyber threats.
To highlight the company's innovative security features, GCash Chief Technology and Operations Officer Pebbles Sy shared the brands efforts to secure access to their accounts.
One of which is through DoubleSafe - a 2-factor authentication system which uses a mobile PIN, and Face ID technology for the GCash App.
GCash Chief Risk Officer Ingrid Beroña, Chief Information Security Officer Miguel Geronilla, and G-Xchange President and CEO Ren-Ren Reyes also joined different panels on topics such as managing cybersecurity threats in a national resilient network. Tapping the hacker experience to protect the masses and fostering strong public-private sector cooperation to achieve a progressive national digitalization program.
GCash also emphasized its education campaign against scams through the #GSafeTayo initiative, which aims to empower the public on how to safeguard their digital accounts.
Moreover, GCash has been collaborating with law enforcement agencies such as the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), DICT, and Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) to go after fraudsters and cybercriminals.
