I personally have a fondness for smartphones that give out great value for money. Having known the brand Infinix, it's not hard to notice that that's practically what they live by with each smartphone they release.
So when I was invited to try out the new Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G, I didn't think twice knowing that I'd probably be in for a treat.
And I sure wasn't disappointed with the plethora of features I experienced. So without further ado, here are my first impressions about it.
First impressions
Few things I noticed right away when I was handed the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ was its curved display and that the device already had a MagCharge compatible case installed. These already got me wondering on how much this device would cost knowing that these are features we would find in high-end devices.
The hard case has a leather texture that is of the same color as the phone itself. It felt nearly identical to how the phone felt on the hands.
Taking it off reveals the Note 40 Pro Plus which is noticeably slim to hold.
The unit we received is the green color variant which has a metallic frame in a gold-like finish that has a Sound by JBL branding on top. The ports on top are a speaker port, mic port and a big shocker for me, an IR blaster for the remote feature.
On its right side is where all the buttons are placed while the bottom has the charging port, SIM tray and a speaker port.
Onto its back panel, as mentioned earlier, this has a leather texture and sitting on its upper right is the camera module which has 108MP OIS stamped on it.
For its display, the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ has a 6.78-inch, 120Hz, 3D curved, AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass. It's vibrant and sharp and was bright enough to still be seen outdoor when I took it out.

Packed with charging features
Possibly the biggest feature that the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ has comes from its charging capabilities. This packs a whopping 100W Fast Charge and 20W wireless charging. As of this writing, this is currently the most affordable smartphone that features wireless charging in the Philippine market that I know of.
As an even bigger shocker, the device also comes packaged with a wireless charger, a MagCharge compatible case and a tempered glass.
Of course we also took the chance to test this out and just as we expected, charging time was impressively fast. We were literally just looking how the numbers rise up just as you plug in the phone.
According to Infinix, plugging the phone for only 12 minutes can already get the phone to a 50 percent charge.
That's incredibly impressive considering that we've only experienced similar charging speeds on phones that are about four or five times more expensive than this.
On the Note 40 Pro+, you'll also have control to choose the type of charging speeds your phone will use. You can choose between Temp, Smart, and Hyper.
Temp, which I assume stands for temperature, will charge the phone slower to minimize heat and maximize battery health. Smart automatically manages charging speeds depending on your phone's battery capacity, while Hyper will charge the phone at its fastest throughout.
I also got to try out wireless charging. This means I can also use my wireless power banks and take advantage of wireless charging stations at airports with this phone. Super convenient.
Price and Final thoughts
The Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G retails for only PhP 13,999. While I have yet to experience the other features of this smartphone, I sure was amazed with what this device can offer just with my initial impression.
IMHO, the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ is setting a new standard along its price range. I can easily call this to be an industry shocker with the features it offers most especially when it comes to charging.
This might mark the start of these charging features to be present in more affordable smartphones and I'm sure glad that a lot more people will already get to experience these on the Note 40 Pro+.
