Exploring the first Tamashii Nations Pop-up in PH ft. Voltes V & Chogokin 50th anniv. showcase

Robinsons Magnolia has turned into the ultimate hangout for anime fans, toy collectors, and pop culture lovers with the first Tamashii Nations pop-up event, we're lucky enough to witness its epic unveiling. (Know more about Tamashii Nations, visit their website here.)

I arrived ahead of the event start time and couldn’t resist browsing through the displays.

It felt like stepping into a time capsule—surrounded by displays of childhood favorites like Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Gundam, and even Power Rangers. It was an absolute sensory pleasure.

One of the highlights for me was seeing my all-time favorite anime, Rurouni Kenshin, featuring Kenshin Himura, Hajime Saito, and Aoshi Shinomori. I couldn't help but share stories with my friends of how I used to watch the Tagalized version of it on local TV. LOL.

And, of course, I was delighted to see my more recent favorite, Kaiju No. 8 in the mix, too.

There were cosplayers roaming around as well!

The event also featured an exclusive Voltes V showcase, paying tribute to its lasting legacy in the Philippines. Fans could admire stunning displays of the Soul of Chogokin and Robot Spirits series, showing the evolution of the iconic super robot over the years.

The real centerpiece of the event was the reveal of the life-size Voltes V model—more like a statue at this grand scale. Front and center was the Soul of Chogokin GX-31SP 50th Ver., an exclusive collectible that celebrates five decades of Chogokin craftsmanship. Alongside it was the The Robot Spirit Voltes V figure, offering fans yet another amazing take on the legendary robot. Both of these commemorative releases are available for purchase at the event.

The event was graced by some of the cast from Voltes V: Legacy, including Matt Lozano (Big Bert), Raphael Landicho (Little John), Epi Quizon (Zuhl), Gabby Eigenmann (Commander Robinson), along with the show’s director, Mark Reyes.
