What's in the box of the Huawei Band 10

Premium craftsmanship, comfortable build

The HUAWEI Band 10 features an aluminum alloy chassis, adding a premium feel to the device. Paired with this vibrant green strap, it exudes a high-energy, upbeat lifestyle. It also comes in a polycarbonate variant, which we assume would feel lighter, but the alloy version we have adds a slight heft, reminding you that you're wearing a watch (8.99mm thin, 15 grams weight).

The strap is notably soft, flexible, breathable, and said to be hypoallergenic. On my skin, it doesn’t feel irritating. These are also easily swappable with just one click.

A daily companion

As a photographer and content creator, I’m constantly on the go—jumping between shoots, meetings, and editing for clients. I used the Band 10 more as a smartwatch rather than a dedicated fitness tracker.

At the start of the week, I charged the Band 10 to 100 percent, with all sensors and options turned on. I was pleasantly surprised that Huawei nailed some key functions.

Bright AMOLED Display

The 1.47-inch AMOLED screen (194x368px) is easy on the eyes. While the overall experience would depend on your chosen watch face, the preloaded options got the fonts and legibility just right. Even under harsh sunlight during a shoot, reading notifications wasn’t an issue, thanks in addition to the subtle buzz that alerts me instantly.

The face of the Band 10 uses some sort of durable glass. I did get the case and face bumped during some shoot and commutes, and thankfully, it survived unscathed.

Leveled up health features

The health features helped me stay on top of my basic personal parameters, such as blood pressure monitoring, step counting, and blood oxygen levels. But what surprised me was that the HUAWEI Band 10 comes equipped with Huawei’s “Emotional Well-Being” feature—something entirely new to me.

With this, the Band 10 periodically checks in on my mood, keeping me aware of whether I’m in a good or foul state. It’s an interesting addition that adds a more holistic approach to personal wellness.

I've been consistently hitting my health goals recently, and it's refreshing to see my progress at a glance. I get subtle reminders during meetings or editing sessions to take a break and walk for a bit.

Workout modes are plentiful. It features around 100 options, but I primarily used the Outdoor Walk mode, which utilizes GPS to track my path and I'd say it does so accurately.

I also went swimming, as the Band 10 can also be subjected to water activities. It features a dedicated Pool Swim Workout mode, along with a variety of AI-powered workout profiles. Just to be safe, remember to rinse the band with tap water after swimming to prevent chlorine buildup, which could cause skin irritation or gunk up the wrist area.

Long battery life

Battery life is claimed to last around two weeks. However, in real-world usage—with notifications constantly popping up—I managed to get around seven days from a full charge down to five percent. Again, this was with all features, including notifications, turned on.

I have no doubt that with a more optimized setup, the claimed two weeks, or at least 10–12 days, is achievable.

HUAWEI Health App with iOS

The Huawei Health app integrates with Apple iOS Health Kit. This allowed me to track my health statistics—from something as simple as step counting to more advanced features like Emotional Well-Being and a food diary. Surprisingly, for an app, it’s quite feature-packed.

There are suggested exercises for all levels, from beginner to competitive, including 5K marathon training and breathing exercises that help lower blood pressure and calm your mood, to name a few.

I’ve used other smartwatches and fitness bands in the past, but this is the first—at least in recent years—to offer such a comprehensive feature set within its app. It makes me more inclined to stay within the Huawei ecosystem, as it gamifies health tracking in an engaging way.

QR generation for GCash payment is also said to come as a feature on the HUAWEI Band 10 but as of writing this review, we have yet to experience the roll out on our unit.

Verdict

Overall, the Huawei Band 10 is a sleek smart band, ideal for those looking to stay active. It packs a lot of features and presents them in a straightforward, user-friendly manner.

With its aluminum alloy body and very comfortable, replaceable straps, I wouldn’t be surprised if many people take an interest in it. Even just considering its basic functions—plus the robust AI workout programs—this device fits well into the growing demand for health-conscious wearables. Once it officially drops, I can see it becoming a common sight around the metro, even when compared to its current competition.
